Three 4th of July Cocktail Recipes with 3 Ingredients or Less!

Hopefully you’re all off doing something really fun and exciting for the 4th of July holidays – but I know some people are stuck working today (with the day off tomorrow, yay!) too. I ended up taking one of my vacation days today so I could spend the long weekend up in Traverse City, Michigan with my family and we have been having such an incredible time!!

One of the most fun parts so far has been all of the wineries and breweries we’ve been exploring up here, and I branched out at this amazing food truck location to test out some new cocktails, too. 
In case you’re still looking for the perfect (simple) festive drinks to sip on while you watch some fireworks tomorrow, I rounded up a few that I’ve tried while I’m up here that are beyond simple to make – and super delicious + refreshing. 
Frozen Ice Cube Vodka Tonic
Serving Size: 1 (adjust as necessary)

  • 2 shots of Vodka (or Gin) of Choice
  • Tonic Water or Diet Tonic Water (Soda water would also work!)
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Water
  1. Fill an ice cube tray half full in every slot with water, and place either a raspberry or blueberry in each one, covering the remainder up with water. 
  2. Freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight (until solid). 
  3. Combine the liquor and tonic in a glass with a few raspberry and blueberry ice cubes, and add in a few extra blueberries and raspberries for garnish. 
Couldn’t be more simple than that! I loved this festive twist on my go-to drink that I order or make whenever I’m at home. 
Serves 2

  • 4 oz. cucumber vodka (I’ve been drinking Effen Cucumber Vodka lately and LOVE it!)
  • 4 1-inch cubes of seedless watermelon
  • 2 limes, cut to slices
  • 2 oz. simple syrup (You can buy it, or make your own using sugar and water. Boil 1/4 cup of water and sugar just until the sugar dissolves, add 1/4 cup of ice to cool it)
For Garnish:
  • 2 watermelon slices
  • 2 cucumber slices
  • 2 small pieces of mint
  • Lime Rim (combine salt and sugar and rub lime on the edges to make it stick)
  1. Combine vodka, watermelon and lime in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Add simple syrup, fill with ice, shake more until cold.
  2. Rim the glasses with lime and coat in the salt/sugar mixture.
  3. Fill the glasses half full with ice and pour liquid into each glass.
  4. Garnish as you’d like!
Prickly Pear Punch
Serves 4

  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 cup cactus water (you can get this at any grocery store, I recommend True Nopal)
  • 1/2 cup silver tequila
  • 1 lemon rind strip
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ice cubes
  • 1/4 cup prosecco or sparkling wine
  1. Muddle together the lemon rind and the sugar in a glass. Add cactus water, honey, and tequila. Add ice cubes, shake well until chilled. Strain evenly, and top each glass with 1 tbsp. of prosecco.
