One of my absolute favorite parts of the blogging community is meeting other bloggers sharing and creating similar (or different) content and getting a glimpse into their lives the way you would with an “in-person” friendship. In some ways, I feel like I’m more in the loop with friends I’ve made through blogging than outside of it, because even if we haven’t had a second to catch up recently, I can follow along with what they’ve been up to!
Over the five years I’ve been blogging, I’ve met countless amounts of people and come across so many different blogs. I wish had the time to read absolutely everything, but I do my best to sneak some time here or there as often as I can. There are a few blogs these last few years that have always made it into my weekly reading rotation. Lately, I haven’t been the best about keeping up with them, but I’m working on making it a part of my Sunday morning routine.
I feel like in the last year or two, blogging has made such a major shift over to Instagram in order to get traffic and influence, that people forget where this all really began – with the writing! (That’s not to say I don’t love Instagram as a platform, or think bloggers who put the majority of their focus there are wrong!) A photo is just an entirely different piece of content, and reading and writing is what got me to fall in love with blogging to begin with. If you’re like me and want to read more posts, stories, and other great content, there’s a super easy way to do so.
The feed that I personally use to keep up with all of my favorite bloggers is Bloglovin’. It allows you to follow all of your favorite bloggers, and presents their most recent posts in a news feed format so that you can click and choose whatever interests you. It also has a great free app (download here) so that you can read on the go or during your commute! You can follow my blog on Bloglovin’ right here, by the way!
I wanted to share with all of you some of my favorite blogs to catch up on every week and hopefully help you discover one of your new favorites, too!
My Favorite Bloggers To Read Weekly
Kelly In the City | One of my all-time favorites these last few years! She’s a life and style blogger here in Chicago, but is married with a daughter and living in Lincoln Park. I’ve loved following along with her posts while I navigate Chicago, especially because she’s a few steps ahead of me and it’s nice to see how someone else made it all work!
The Golden Girl | I found Jess’ blog through Kelly (above) because they’re good friends. She also lives in Chicago and her blog is one of the most relatable ones I’ve come across, in my opinion. I love all of her content, and she keeps it pretty varied while always staying super down to earth. She also shares some of the best capsule wardrobe/ways to wear it posts – I always look to her for inspiration!
The Everygirl | Technically a website rather than a blog, but I have used this as a resource in my 20s more than anything else out there. They cover absolutely everything, and also feature a lot of my favorite bloggers posts from time to time, too. If you’re looking for one single place to find a little bit of everything, this is it.
Heather Poppie | I first discovered Heather’s blog through Instagram (and her feed is seriously goals) but I love checking in on her posts on her site occasionally, too. She truthfully shares more on Instagram than the blog, but is still definitely worth checking out.
Karlie Rae Lang | Similar to Heather’s blog above, Karlie is definitely a bit more active on Instagram than her blog, but the two of them give me more outfit inspiration than anyone. Mainly because the outfits they pull together and the pieces they buy are exactly my style, and still budget-friendly! They’re great for good boutique finds or awesome sale alerts.
Dani Austin | Easily one of my favorite bloggers ever. Hers are some of the only Instagram stories I always find time for because her personality is so fun, unique, and truly down to earth. She doesn’t get so caught up in a lot of the less genuine aspects of influencers that seem to be everywhere these days. I also very often find my next clothing purchases through her because she’s as in love with Nordstrom as I am!
The Stripe | I’ve been slowly reading this blog more often, but truthfully the holy grail of her site for me is her book suggestions. She has an entire section of her website dedicated to book recommendations and it is one of the most thorough I’ve ever seen (and that’s coming from someone who reads a lot). So far I have loved everything I’ve gotten from her page!
You can also check out all of my book recommendations here, or under the Lifestyle tab at the top of my page!
Sophisticaition | Caitlin was my very first blogging friend, and I still laugh thinking about our first awkward meet-up and outfit photoshoot. Since then, she has made blogging her full time job, and watching her platform and following grow into what is has become has been so amazing. I couldn’t be more proud of her! Of course I’m a tad biased because she’s one of my great friends, but I absolutely love reading her posts. She keeps a big focus on keeping things real and down-to-earth.
Pretty & Fun | I especially love Cait’s blog for her beauty roundups. I am really curious about makeup, beauty, and other new and exciting treatments and products, but rarely want to invest in testing them out myself (or risking an allergic reaction). If you have sensitive skin like me, I share all the products that have and have not worked for me over the years right here.
Fashion Jackson | Definitely in my top three when it comes to fashion inspiration! Amy’s style is so elegant and simple, with the perfect details to make every outfit look put together in just the right way. I’ve especially used her as a source of style inspiration as I’ve gone through my 20’s and have been working on elevating my personal style to something a little bit more mature. She’s really talented at finding pieces that all make great closet staples that will last you for years.
The thing I truly love about the blogging world is that there is a blog for everybody, no matter what you’re interested in or looking for. I could never in a million years follow, find, or read every blog that I would likely love – but I’m certainly enjoying trying! I always love hearing about even more bloggers, so if you have a few favorites (or even a blog of your own) please comment them below so I can check them out! While you’re at it, don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin’!
